Former Big Brother Naija housemate Zion has opened up about what he really meant when he said that his girlfriend and teammate, Chinwe, was not usual spec.


Zion appeared as a guest on the Outsyd by Pulse show after his eviction and was asked about his remarks, which were made during his time on BBNaija Season 9 and sparked some confusion and concern among fans and viewers.

The host asked, "You had a conversation in the house where you mentioned that Chinwe is not completely your spec. How do you think she will feel when she hears that?"

Zion clarified his comment was primarily about physical attributes, stressing that he normally goes for light-skinned women, but Chinwe is dark.

He explained, "Yes, I said that she wasn't completely my spec but I was talking mainly physically. In the physical aspect, I have even told her and I will say it anywhere, normally, based on my track record, I usually go for light-skinned girls."

The reality TV star emphasised that falling for Chinwe had little to do with her physical appearance.

Zion explained, "Me meeting Chinwe and being with her, I don't think the physical bad much to play in us coming together. I fell for her and we both fell for each other based on mental and in-depth aspects of each other."

"For her, she is a lovely person inside and outside. So I could see and I could feel that inside her, she's a lovely person. So I meant my spec on the outside," he concluded.

Breaking News: Police invade Abuja NLC headquarters

Heavily armed Policemen late Wednesday night invaded the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Headquarters, Abuja, commonly known as Labour House. Though details of the invasion is still sketchy, Vanguard gathered that the stern looking policemen stormed the Labour House some few minutes to 9 pm and ransacked both the Second and 10th floors. A source told Vanguard that “Comrades, armed security men, both in uniform and mufti just invaded the Labour House in their numbers and were at the 10th Floor and 2nd Floor. “They broke into second floor and ransacked books at the bookshop carrying all the materials into their van claiming that the materials were used to incite and organize the recent protest.”

Simon Ekpa, a controversial Biafra agitator, has hired an American lobbying firm, Moran Global Strategies (MGS), to advance agitation for the independent state of Biafra. Mr Ekpa, based in Finland, heads Autopilot, a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB is a separatist group agitating for the creation of an independent state of Biafra from south-east and some parts of south-south Nigeria. NLC plans mass procession as Ajaero honours police invitation

Barring any last-minute change in plans, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, will today (Thursday) honour the summons by the police over allegations of treason and terrorism financing. Ahead of today’s visit to the police headquarters in Abuja, the NLC Central Working Committee, on Wednesday, issued a circular, mobilising the union members and affiliate associations for a march on the police head offices across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The police had, in an invitation last week, asked Ajaero to appear at the Force headquarters on Tuesday, August 20, by 10 am to answer questions on his alleged involvement in terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony. The invitation came in the wake of a night raid by the police on the NLC national secretariat in Abuja. 161 Nigerian students fail UK border checks, denied entry

No fewer than 1,425 international students who gained admission to universities in the United Kingdom were denied entry at the country’s airports between 2021 and 2023. A total of 161 Nigerians were affected, as they were removed on arrival at airports across the UK. According to data exclusively obtained from the UK Home Office through the Freedom of Information Act, India topped the list of affected foreign students with 644, representing 45 per cent of the figure, while Nigeria followed with 11.3 per cent. Ghana is third on the list with 92 (6.46 per cent), while Bangladesh is fourth with 90 (6.32 per cent). However, the released data, covering October 2021 to October 2023, is limited to students denied entry at the airports. It does not include international students deported by the Home Office for violating the terms of their visas, such as working beyond 20 hours weekly and academic malpractice.
