I'm tired of the twisting of statements - Paul Okoye on P-Square rift

Amid the ongoing dispute between brothers Paul and Peter of the P-square pop duo, Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, has now refused to speak on their feud.


During a recent interview on the Afrobeats Podcast, hosted by Adesope Olajide, he was asked about his personal feelings regarding the unresolved issues between him and his brother.

"All we see publicly is 'Oh, the duo has separated and they can't settle, but personally as a human being in quiet moments. How do you feel that you can't work out?" Adesope asked.

Expressing his frustration, Rudeboy stated that he would rather avoid discussing the feud to avoid his words being twisted.

'I'm going to say something and I'm sorry. I know it's a show but I'd rather not say anything. I'm tired of this twisting of statements; you're a fan of Psquare and it's my family. So why would I say something now that would turn into something else? Let's stick to the Rudeboy," the singer replied.

This comes after he revealed that the P-square duo had split up yet again on August 1, 2024. Paul further shared that Peter petitioned him and their older brother Jude Okoye to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who invited him in. In the interview, Paul also shared that the EFCC investigated and cleared him of any financial misappropriation.

After that, Peter replied to his public statements in an open letter, stating that Paul's interview undermined their joint legacy and his individual contributions to the group. He also stressed that he is in no competition with his twin.

Their public spat has since garnered reactions from Nigerians both at home and abroad, and politician Peter Obi visited the brothers individually in a bid to reconcile them.

Breaking News: Police invade Abuja NLC headquarters

Heavily armed Policemen late Wednesday night invaded the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Headquarters, Abuja, commonly known as Labour House. Though details of the invasion is still sketchy, Vanguard gathered that the stern looking policemen stormed the Labour House some few minutes to 9 pm and ransacked both the Second and 10th floors. A source told Vanguard that “Comrades, armed security men, both in uniform and mufti just invaded the Labour House in their numbers and were at the 10th Floor and 2nd Floor. “They broke into second floor and ransacked books at the bookshop carrying all the materials into their van claiming that the materials were used to incite and organize the recent protest.”

Simon Ekpa hires American lobbyist to advance Biafra’s cause in the United States

Simon Ekpa, a controversial Biafra agitator, has hired an American lobbying firm, Moran Global Strategies (MGS), to advance agitation for the independent state of Biafra. Mr Ekpa, based in Finland, heads Autopilot, a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB is a separatist group agitating for the creation of an independent state of Biafra from south-east and some parts of south-south Nigeria. The two regions are usually called “Biafra” or sometimes “Biafra land” by IPOB and other separatist groups in the area. NLC plans mass procession as Ajaero honours police invitation

Barring any last-minute change in plans, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, will today (Thursday) honour the summons by the police over allegations of treason and terrorism financing. Ahead of today’s visit to the police headquarters in Abuja, the NLC Central Working Committee, on Wednesday, issued a circular, mobilising the union members and affiliate associations for a march on the police head offices across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The police had, in an invitation last week, asked Ajaero to appear at the Force headquarters on Tuesday, August 20, by 10 am to answer questions on his alleged involvement in terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony. The invitation came in the wake of a night raid by the police on the NLC national secretariat in Abuja. 161 Nigerian students fail UK border checks, denied entry

No fewer than 1,425 international students who gained admission to universities in the United Kingdom were denied entry at the country’s airports between 2021 and 2023. A total of 161 Nigerians were affected, as they were removed on arrival at airports across the UK. According to data exclusively obtained from the UK Home Office through the Freedom of Information Act, India topped the list of affected foreign students with 644, representing 45 per cent of the figure, while Nigeria followed with 11.3 per cent. Ghana is third on the list with 92 (6.46 per cent), while Bangladesh is fourth with 90 (6.32 per cent). However, the released data, covering October 2021 to October 2023, is limited to students denied entry at the airports. It does not include international students deported by the Home Office for violating the terms of their visas, such as working beyond 20 hours weekly and academic malpractice.
